The title summarise the sequence of events presented. The title may be sentence or a noun phrase. Opening It contains place, time, purpose or reason, and main problem. Content It is the extension of the opening. The content of the news must be facts, including informants' opinion towards the events. Background event : They elaborate what happened, to whom, or in what circumstances. Source : It contains about comments by participants in, witnesses to, and authorities expert on the event. Language features of News Item Text Use past tenses (the simple past, the past continuous, the past perfect).
